First of all, it's a heavy-duty bag that can withstand certain amount of weight and abuse during the everyday packing/unpacking, loading/unloading and tying/untying on the rear rack of the scooter. The Expedition Duffel bags are made of very durable tarpaulin and they have a thick PVC coating that makes them water resistant and stronger, too.
Apart from the main handle (with velcro to hold it shut), they also have two side hand grips at each end which come handy when you need to load the bag on the roof of a vehicle or when it's too heavy for one person to lift it. The bags also have removable, padded shoulder straps that give the option to carry them on your back, but this is only when the weight allows it. In our case, this is impossible, as we carry all the heavy equipment there. The big #10 YKK zipper is one more plus, as they are practical and reliable. The mesh organizer pockets under the top flap are also practical for smaller objects.
The Expedition Duffel Bag 100L is indeed a super durable bag. After 15 months of everyday use in difficult conditions, the only thing that it suffers from, is some grime on its bright yellow color. The only thing that one should take into account is that even though the material (tarpaulin & PVC coating) is waterproof, the bag isn't. Under heavy rain the water can enter the main compartment from the zippers.
Our overall impression is that the Expedition Duffel Bag is a very good product for its high durability and good quality, and it could be perfect if the protective layer above the zipper would seal or, if it would be a bit longer so that it covers the zipper completely.
